PURPOSE:To obtain a twisted wire consisting of a stainless steel or nickel alloy having excellent feeding property, weldability, etc. by limiting respectively the tensile strength, twisting pitch and lubricating oil deposition of the wire within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The tensile strength over the entire part of the twisted wire made of the strands consisting of the Cr or Ni-Cr stainless steel specified by JISZ3321, etc. or the Ni and Ni alloy specified by AWSA5.9, etc. is made >=90 kg.f/mm<2> in order to increase the feed speed of the wire and the upper limit thereof is kept at 190kg.f/mm<2> in order to avert the increase in the feed resistance in a conduit. The twisting pitch is limited in a 15-45(d) range with respect to the diameter (d) of the strands to minimize the feed resistance. The lubricating oil deposition is limited to <=20ppm to prevent the generation of blowholes. The good stainless steel or alloy twisted wire is thus obtd. by limiting strictly the various characteristic values in the above-mentioned manner. |
