Nutrient feed compsn. for cattle and swine comprises polycyclic ether antibiotic of formula (I) or salt, where R and R1 are each H or Me. (I) may be obtd. e.g. by submerged aerobic fermentation of Actinomadura Sp. ATCC 39697. (I) are effective in controlling coccidiosis, euteritis, swine dysentery and theileriosis, as well as being effective in promoting growth and increasing efficiency of feed utilisation in swine and ruminants. |
