The invention refers to a device for hygienic protection for containers for drinks, edible liquids and other products in general, and calls for a protective layer (30) applied to the lid, over its opening area, so as to cover, until such time as the container is opened, that part of its surface which will come into contact with the product contained inside the container when it is poured out, and in particular with the user's lips in the case of a drink (figure 1).
