The invention relates to the measurement of the hydrostatic pressure within a liquid 2 contained in a tank 1, in which is immersed a pressure probe consisting of a tube 3 emerging at 3a at the place where it is desired to measure the pressure; this tube is connected with a gas accumulator 7 previously inflated to a pressure greater than the pressure to be measured, such that the gas escapes from the tube 3 to form bubbles, whilst the pressure in the accumulator 7 consequently decreases; the value of the latter, measured when the bubbles cease to escape, is equal to the hydrostatic pressure in question. <IMAGE>
