The invention relates to a document filing device. The intermediate boards 19, 20 made from an elastically deformable material, are made in one piece with securing parts such as clamps 25 which close over at least one longitudinal member 7, 8 in the bottom of the receptacle, with sufficient clearance to allow each board to be moved along the longitudinal member. The bottom of the receptacle is preferably provided with a flat board 15 situated level with the longitudinal member or higher than it and comprising openings through which the clamps 25 pass in order to close around the longitudinal members. These members may be metal rods bent to form the framework of the unit. Vertical dividers or files for incorporation into a cabinet may be constructed in accordance with the invention. <IMAGE>
