PURPOSE:To interpolate the breaking of a line due to deformation processing automatically and to improve the character quality after the deformation by comparing the dot pattern of each line with that of its last line and detecting the breaking of a line of a character pattern, and adding specific interpolation dots according to the line breaking state. CONSTITUTION:The quantity of inclined character deformation corresponding to the deformation angle of a character pattern is set in an inclined character deformation quantity register 31 and a relative deviation quantity arithmetic circuit 32 calculates the quantity of relative deviation of each line from a last line to generate a relative deviation quantity table 33. An inclined character deformation circuit 35 reads character pattern data before deformation out of an image memory 34 and refers to the relative deviation quantity table 33 to perform deformation processing, line by line. Then the dot pattern of each line is compared with that of its last line and when the breaking of a line of a character pattern is detected, specific interpolation dots are added corresponding to the line breaking state. Consequently, the line breaking is interpolated automatically to improve the character quantity after deformation. |
