PURPOSE:To suppress a rise in the temperature of an image carrier and to preclude deterioration in picture quality such as the blurring of an image by controlling the rotating speed of a fan for cooling according to the temperature of the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A temperature detecting means 3 detects the temperature of the image carrier (photosensitive drum) and a control means 38 controls the rotating speeds of fans 4 and 5 for cooling according to the detected temperature. Namely, the cooling fans 4 and 5 are rotated faster and faster as the temperature of the image carrier becomes higher and higher. Therefore, the image carrier is controlled to constant temperature regardless of the outside temperature, so the temperature rise of the image carrier can be suppressed and the deterioration in picture quality such as blurring is precluded. |
