The colour cathod ray tube has a shadow mask (9) in the inner surface of panel (1C) formed with fluorescent surface. A number of fixing members (12,14) are formed between a shadow mask assembly (7) and a panel (1C) such that the shadow mask assembly is fixed on the panel. The fixing member (13) comprises a bimetal substrate (10) fixed on the side wall of the shadow mask assembly and a spring (14) having an end part fixed on the bimetal substrate and another end part fixed on the panel. At least one part of the fixing member is formed by a vibration-proof alloy metal plate having attenuation capacity Q-1 of 3x10-3 at an actual temperature.
