Fixed to the centre of one of the axles 3 of the toy is a circular roller 7, one of whose lateral faces is connected to its periphery by a bevel 7a against which there presses a block 8c carried by a plate 8 moving laterally along the axle 3. If the plate is moved in the other direction, a tooth 8d on the plate 8 engages in one of the depressions 7d carried by the periphery of the roller 7. The plate is integral with an elastic pin 8e that positions itself elastically in notches 1'd, 1''d corresponding respectively to the positions of locking and braking. <IMAGE>
