The subject of the invention is methods and devices for mechanically crimping connection components onto conductor wires enabling good relative positioning of the crimping tools to be obtained. A device according to the invention includes two tool-carriers 2, 19 each delimiting an accurately machined groove 4, 21 in which are placed metal plates 14, 15, 27, 28 carrying crimping tools 14a, 15a, 227a, 28a, thickness shims 10, 13, 22, 26 and two inserts (small plates) 11, 23 respectively carrying male guide means 25a, 25b and female guide means 12 into which the male guide means fit without clearance when the crimping tools are moved closer together to a distance less than the minimum distance which separates them during the crimping. One application is the equipping of a flexible wiring shop. <IMAGE>
