<p>The biophotoreactor for exploiting a photosynthetic activity is provided with a lighting device using optical fibers. The lighting device is comprised of at least one lighting element (1) shaped like a bar, consisting of a sleeve (4) provided with a multiplicity of orifices (9) in each of which is fixed the extremity of an optical fiber housed in the sleeve and connected at its other extremity to a light generator, light areas being thus formed on the external wall of the sleeve, consequently distributing the light in the direction of the photoreaction medium contained in the biophotoreactor vat. Lighting cones may thus be formed at the periphery of the ''lighting bar'', which cones cross each other in a uniform manner in order to provide for an homogeneous lighting in the case of photosynthetic material immobilized in a gel along a biocatalytic membrane, the latter is arranged so as to surround the bar and a lighting homogeneity of the membrane is obtained, without ''overheating spots'' leading to a premature aging of the membrane.</p> |
