Electrically heated continuous-flow heater, in particular for washing or dishwashing machines, in which a helically wound tubular-jacket heating element (2) is arranged, in a manner which conducts heat well, on the outside of a metal flowpipe (1), through which the liquid to be heated flows only on the inside, and is fixed by means of a fused connection. The helically wound tubular-jacket heating element (2) is wound with an inside diameter of "D" which is slightly larger than the outside diameter of the flowpipe (1). The flowpipe (1) is brought into a snug fit with the fitted-on tubular-jacket heating element (2) by means of expansion. The fused connection of the tubular-jacket heating element with the flowpipe (1) is established by heating this unit. <IMAGE>
