<p>PURPOSE:To secure the stability in accelerating and decelerating each work roll, by accelerating and deccelerating the work roll linearly up to a certain range, and exponentially when the roll speed exceeds said range. CONSTITUTION:In a multi pass rolling method by wrapping a strip, made to roll the strip between a pair of adjoining rolling rolls, each work roll is accelerated and decelerated by the following conditions. That is, a peripheral speed V of the roll is changed from V=0 to V=Vt1 in accordance with a linear function. V=alphat (V: peripheral speed of the roll, t: time), till it attains a point A. Next, V is changed in accordance with an exponential function, V=Ssebetat (Vs: roll peripheral speed before accelerated or decelerated, beta: variation ratio of roll peripheral speed). In this case, the constants Vs and beta are related to the time required to attain a target roll speed Vf from the point of time t1, and are obtained by experiments.</p> |
