PURPOSE:To make weight-saving and improve abrasion resistance by forming the sliding parts of a mechanical part made of an Al alloy contacting other members under pressure into composite bodies contg. inorg. or metallic fibers arrayed at right angles to the sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:Inorg. or metallic fibers 5 are arranged in a longitudinal direction and are impregnated with an Al alloy in such a way as to have prescribed fiber density, whereby a fiber reinforced composite body (FRM) 6a is formed. Next, this FRM 6a is cut to a chip-like FRM 6b conforming to a sliding part 3. Thence, this FRM 6b is inserted into the die for forming a shaft part 2, whereby the Al composite body which is light in weight and has abrasion resistance is obtained. |
