In order to press on the lid (6) of a pressure filter vessel (1), there is disposed on the lid (6) an annular cylinder (12) which grips by means of an annular piston (17) against a clamp (23) engaging over the annular piston (17) and under the edge (4), constructed as a flange, of the pressure filter vessel (1). The clamp (23) is realised by a ring (23) composed of segments. The ring (23) can be opened and closed by means of a bolt (29), via which, in the inserted position, a valve (32) for controlling the annular cylinder (12) is actuated. This arrangement ensures the sequence of the steps to be carried out to open and close the pressure vessel (1). <IMAGE>
