In a domestic appliance, a housing part (2) which covers a motor-driven tool is held on an appliance housing (1) via a manually actuable holding bow (5). An additional control device serves to ensure that a control element provided on the holding bow (5) allows closure of the motor circuit only when the holding bow (5) is in its working position. In order to prevent faulty connections in this case, the additional control device has a safety element (8) which is shielded off from the control element (9) by a slide (11) when the housing part (2) is detached. <IMAGE>
