PURPOSE:To improve accuracy in knock detection by arranging and shaping a discharge sensor to suppress the occurrence of blow-out and having a discharge energy supply source and an ignition coil of a supply source to an ignition coil for common use. CONSTITUTION:A compact discharge sensor 5 provided in the depth of a cylinder head has a narrow discharge gap and the diameter of the electrode formed thinly. An ignition plug 3 and the discharge sensor 5 control the charge and discharge of an ignition coil 22 by a power transistor 21 to be supplied with discharging energy through a distributing circuit 23. On the other hand, a detector 24 detects about 1/1,000 of discharging voltage of the discharge sensor 5 and a signal processing circuit 25 detects induced discharge voltage portion. When such voltage passes through a band-pass filter for resonating fluctuation gain caused by knock and is judged to represent the knock by a knock judging circuit 26, ignition advancing angle is corrected. Thus combustion characteristics and accuracy in the knock detection can be improved. |
