METALLO-PORPHYRINS FOR USE AS BLEACH CATALYST

Metallo-porphyrins having improved stability against oxidation for use as peracid bleach catalyst in the bleaching of fabrics are disclosed. The metalloporphyrins are Mn(III)- or Fe(III)-porphyrins having Arsubstituents on the meso-positions selected from (a) ; (b) and (c) wherein n and m may be 0 or 1; A may be sulphate, sulphonate, phosphate or carboxylate groups; B is C1-C10 alkyl, polyethoxyalkyl or hydroxyalkyl, and X1 and X2 are Cl, Br, CH3, C2H5 or CH3O.
