A gas sealing apparatus and a gas sealing method for a shock absorber are provided to allow for ease of curling process by performing the curling process after bending a top of a base shell of the shock absorber by a predetermined angle. A gas sealing method comprises a step of sealing an upper portion of a base shell(2) and a part of a piston rod(3) by using a set of molds(120a,120b) having inner surfaces with bent surfaces(124); a step of filling a gas chamber with gas through the gap formed between an oil seal(4) and the base shell by injecting gas into the set of molds, and pushing the oil seal further into the base shell; and a step of bending an upper extension(2a) of the base shell by a predetermined angle by pressing the upper extension of the base shell with respect to the bent surfaces of the molds. |
