A remote control system of a car audio system having a detachable portable panel and a controlling method thereof are provided to display a lot of information such as channel information and an operational mode of the car audio system through a display device of the panel, even when the panel is detached, thus a user can control the car audio system as viewing the display device. The second controller checks whether key data is inputted from the second input unit(311). If so, the second controller checks whether a portable panel is detached from a body(313). If so, the second controller checks whether a remote control mode is set(315). If so, the second controller generates control data in accordance with an applied communication method, and sends the control data to the body(317). The second controller checks whether a response signal including operation result data for the transmission of the control data is received(319,321). If so, the second controller detects the operation result data, and displays the detected data on a display(323). |
