The present invention relates to multilayer papermakers fabric having an upper layer (24) comprised of an upper layer and an under layer (2) comprised of a plurality of intermeshed monofilament spiral coils (4), retained by pintle means (10); the upper (24) and lower (2) layers having different permeabilities and being unified into a single fabric by application of adhesives (30) to the interface between the upper layer (24) and the under layer (2).
