<p>PURPOSE:To extend the service life of an electrically erasable PROM and to increase the number of times of write of data by judging the feasibility/ infeasibility of write of the data in a write area, and transferring the data to another area when it is infeasible. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 1 reads an address from the address storage area 3 of the electrically erasable PROM 2, and performs the write of the data as the write area 4 of the PROM 2. And the data is read out from the area 4, and is compared with original data, and when coincidence is obtained, re-write is completed judging that no verify error exists. When the error exists, the write is performed again on the area 4, and when the error still exists, it is judged that the write of the data is impossible, and a write area is changed to an area 5, then, the write is performed. Thereby, the number of times of write on the PROM 2 can be increased, and the service life of the PROM 2 can be extended, which improves reliability.</p> |
