A method for the manufacture of snack foodstuffs containing rice, barley, wheat, millet or potato as the main ingredient, together with other auxiliary ingredients and additives comprises adding water to the main ingredients, auxiliary ingredients and additives, and agitating the mixture while injecting high pressure steam. The material is then passed through rollers so as to form a sheet, dried and cut or punched into the desired shape. If necessary, the resultant material can then be subjected to further processing to form the final product. |
