BLANKET OF MULTI-LAYER SHEET MATERIAL AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain a blanket having arbitrary length and width by repeatedly and alternately in right and left inclinations piling cut pieces of monolayer sheet of silica alumina-based fiber cut at equal intervals slantingly based on the length direction and needling. CONSTITUTION:Monolayer sheet materials 10a and 10b of silica alumina-based fiber are cut slantingly right and slantingly left to give cut pieces 7 and cut pieces 8, respectively. Both the cut pieces are alternately piled, arranged in a belt-like state and both straight-line sides are formed by slant cut faces. The multi-layer sheet materials are integrated by needling and blankets with good accuracy are obtained even if dimensional accuracy of monolayer sheet material is not good.
