PURPOSE:To prevent shock of speed change by a method wherein the delay time of the output of lockup releasing signal with respect to the output of shift-up signal is set relatively short during decreasing of an engine load. CONSTITUTION:In case a shift change deciding means 2 outputs shift-up signal when a lockup deciding means 3 is outputting lockup releasing signal, a delay means 5 sets the delay time in accordance with the output of an engine load sensor 207. When an engine load change detecting means 6 detects that the load of the engine is decreasing based on the output signal of the engine load sensor 207, the delay time is set relatively short. After the delay time has elapsed, a control means 7 outputs a signal for controlling the driving of a solenoid means M1 for lockup of a hydraulic pressure control circuit 4 by the output signal of the delay means 5. |
