PURPOSE:To detect the leakage of electrolytic solution, by laying a piece of detecting wire, wherein electrolytic-solution holding structures having excellent electrolytic-solution resisting property are provided between a pair of parallel electrode wires comprising metals, whose surfaces have different component to each other, on a body to be examined. CONSTITUTION:In an electrolytic-solution detecting wire 1, a core 6 is formed by providing electrolytic-solution holding structures 4a and 4b in parallel in a twisted pattern on a pair of parallel electrode wires 2a and 2b. A protecting structure 8 is provided so as to cover the core. As the electrode wires 2a and 2b, it is recommended that metalls, whose surfaces have different components to each other so that there is a difference in ionization tendencies of to both surfaces and a high electromotive force is obtained, e.g., a copper wire and an aluminum wire, are used. The detecting wire 1 is laid on pipe lines, storage tanks and the like. When the electrolytic solution leaks, the core 6 absorbs the liquid, and the electromotive force is generated by a pair of the electrode wires 2a and 2b. The electromotive force can be detected. |
