PURPOSE:To maintain the satisfactory strength of a transmission case without any increase in its thickness by providing a hydraulic actuator for operating a hydraulic operating mechanism and a shift rod on a cover for blocking up an opening of a transmission case. CONSTITUTION:An opening 14a for opening the side of a hydraulic clutch B is formed on a mid case 14, the end portions of shift rods 17, 17 and 19 are extended to the opening 14a, and a hydraulic actuator is provided on the inner surface of a cover for blocking up the opening 14a in such a manner as to operate the end portions. Accordingly, the end portions and the hydraulic actuator link up with one another and the linking position is near the hydraulic clutch B, so that even if the size of the opening 14a is set to such a degree as to oepng the hydraulic clutch B and its vicinity, the speed change operation can be conducted by the hydraulic actuator. Furthermore, piping to the hydraulic clutch B can be made through the opening 14a, so that the hydraulic clutch B can be operated in association with the operation of the hydraulic actuator.
