<p>NEW MATERIAL:A peptide expressed by the formula (A and B represent Phe or Tyr; X and Y represent single bond, amino acid residue such as Asp or Glu, etc.; Z represents OH or amino group). USE:Useful for therapy of myasthenia gravis caused by an autoantibody to a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (hereinafter referred to as 'receptor'). An adsorbing agent which effectively adsorbs and removes a human antibody to the receptor from a body is efficiently formed by immobilizing it on a carrier and heat-treating the peptide. PREPARATION:For example, a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer bound with an acyloxy group formed by eliminating hydrogen atom from an alpha-carboxyl group contained in an amino acid corresponding to a C-terminus of the objective peptide is successively bound to corresponding amino acids toward the N- terminus of the objective peptide to form the peptide chain. Then the peptide chain is removed from the polymer and the protecting group thereof is eliminated.</p> |
