PURPOSE:To improve operational performance during warm-up operation of an engine, by inhibiting engagement of a directly coupling clutch and overdrive operation when the engine is at prescribed temperature or less and a car speed is a prescribed value or less further a total number of revolutions of the engine from its starting operation are a prescribed value or less. CONSTITUTION:When temperature of an engine, detected by a water temperature sensor 37 mounted to a cylinder block 9, is a prescribed value or less and a car speed, detected by a car speed sensor 35, is a prescribed value or less further a total number of revolutions of the engine from its starting operation, detected by crank angle sensors 30, 31, is a prescribed value or less, overdriving and lock-up operations are inhibited by an electronic controller 41. As a result, reduction ratio of an automatic speed changer can be maintained to a large value, and stable operation of the engine can be performed to ensure good acceleration. Further a less load is applied to the engine, and fuel consumption can be suppressed. |
