PURPOSE:To preclude malfunction due to a running status in signal absence at the time of MIDI signal demodulation by inhibiting MIDI data from being outputted until a status byte is outputted. CONSTITUTION:When a MIDI signal is recorded on the subcode channel of a digital signal recording medium 11 such as a CD and a DAT, MIDI data of each block which is outputted first is made into a status byte as much as possible. Then if an incorrectable error occurs or operation for interrupting a playback signal such as stop operation is performed during reproduction, the MIDI signal is inhibited from being outputted from a MIDI signal modulating circuit 21 until the status byte is reproduced. Consequently, the MIDI data can be reproduced without causing malfunction due to the running status. |
