PURPOSE:To produce such an information recording medium at low cost which requires no fine processing for detection of recording tracks by providing a recording layer comprising aggregates of polymer films perpendicularly disposed on the recording surface. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer comprises aggregates of polymer films perpendicularly disposed on the recording surface. Namely, a deposited body of polymer films is cut along the normal direction of the surface into aggregates of polymer films, which are then disposed in a manner that the polymer films stand perpendicular to the recording surface to constitute the recording layer. As for the polymer to be used, film-type polymers that cause reversible phase transition by heating or by maintaining at a certain temp., are used, for example, thermotropic polymer liquid crystals. Thereby, the information recording medium which requires no fine processing for detection of recording tracks can be produced at low cost. |
