PURPOSE:To enable temperature of a glazing layer to be controlled at a specific constant temperature by a method wherein a wind direction change over means directing wind from a cooling fan to heating resistor of a thermal head when the thermal head is under a recording state is established. CONSTITUTION:A cam lever 52 raises a shaft 44 in recording, and a thermal head 18 is fitted by pressure to a platen roller 14. When the thermal head 18 has been fitted by pressure to the platen roller 14, and wind direction plate 66 is rotated centering an axis 64 to direct wind from a cross flow fan 68 near to a heating resistor 8 of the thermal head 18. The heating resistor 8 is cooled, and a glazing layer 4 is prevented from accumulating heat. In non-recording, the wind direction plate 66 is rotated around the axis 64 to guide the wind from the cross flow fan 68 to the wind direction plate 66. The wind is direction to a heat sink 40, and a fitting base 38 and the thermal head 18 are cooled. |
