The subject of the present invention is a rubbish bin consisting of a container equipped with a lid and intended to be placed inside a cupboard. The invention aims to supply a rubbish bin which is practical to use and which can be installed easily in any cupboard. The rubbish bin which is the subject of the invention is characterised in that it includes a base 10 intended to be fastened onto the floor 12 of the cupboard and equipped with slideways enabling the container to be moved from the inside towards the outside of the cupboard and vice versa, and with a post 14 on the top of which the lid 18 is articulated, and in that the lid is integral with a vertical arm 26 the lower end of which is pushed by a spring 28 against the rear face of the container 16. <IMAGE>
