A data recording or reproducing device is provided to cut down a cost by simplifying the structure of a shutter and to increase opening and closing speed of the shutter. A data recording device comprises a light source(100), a shutter(200), a beam splitter(101), a spatial light modulator(102), and a reflection mirror(103). The shutter penetrates or shuts a beam generated from the light source by rotating a motor. The beam splitter divides the beam passed through the shutter, into a signal beam and a reference beam. The spatial light modulator modulates the beam for data to be recorded at the signal beam. The reflection mirror controls an incident angle or an incident position of the reference beam to make the reference beam and the signal beam interfere with each other. A data reproducing device includes an image sensor(106) converting the reference beam which is passed through an interference pattern into an electric signal.
