An apparatus for providing automatic contents conversion service using a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) channel and a method thereof are provided to set various content information such as bell sound and idle screen through the DMB channel to an associated terminal automatically in every predetermined period, thereby improving the convenience and satisfaction of a user. An apparatus for providing automatic contents conversion service using a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) channel includes a DMB transmission system(100), a DRM(Digital Rights Management) server(200), and a DMB receiving terminal(300). The DMB transmission system transmits associated contents through the DMB channel to a subscriber of the automatic contents conversion service. The DRM server approves DRM field conversion for expanding an available period of associated contents. The DMB receiving terminal expands an available period of associated contents. .
