The template, which is rectangular and has a recess 6 symmetrical with respect to two lateral edges 2c, 2d, opening out on a first transverse side 20 and extending as a far as a base 4, is designed, in a conventional manner, to engage around the shank of a screw for fixing the frame to the bay surround, and to fix the spacing of the frame relative to the surround for an exact plumb. According to the invention, the template 1 has, starting from the base 4, two branches 5 and 6 following the lateral edges 2c, 2d, and two tabs 7a, 7b which start from the end of the branches 5a, 5b and rejoin the base 4. The tabs 7a, 7b, after two parts 7c, 7d in the shape of an arc of a circle, are rectilinear and substantially parallel, with a spacing which is slightly less than the diameter of the screw to which the template is matched. The templates are thus held loosely fitted , and it is possible to replace the templates with others of greater or lesser thickness in order to put the finishing touches to the plumb wedging of the frame. <IMAGE>
