Herbicidal compounds of formula (I): <CHEM> x is 0-2; R is C1-C3 primary alkyl; R<1> is phenyl; phenyl mono-substituted with bromo, chloro, fluoro, C1-C3 alkyl, trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethoxy, or C1-C3 alkoxy; or phenyl disubstituted at the 2,4-, 2,6-, or 3,4-positions with bromo, chloro, or fluoro; R<2> is hydrogen or chloro; provided that x is 0 and R is methyl when R<1> is alkylphenyl or trifluoromethylphenyl; and R is methyl when R<1> is disubstituted phenyl are particularly useful in rice culture. |
