The method of the invention and the devices for implementing it allow effective automatic skewering with wooden skewers, regardless of the products to be skewered. The method consists in traversing the products to be skewered with skewer-needle assemblies, in retracting the needles 23 inside the hollow skewers 20, in inserting skewering skewers into the space freed inside the skewers 20, in retracting the skewers 20 out of the products to be skewered, leaving therein the skewering skewers, and in completely retracting the skewers 20 as well as the needles 23.
