An electronic device (30) comprises an external device connection connector (33) that is to be connected to a power supply connector (40) of an external device (41) having a power supply function; an electronic circuit (31) that performs a predetermined operation by use of a power supplied from the external device via the external device connection connector; and an electromagnet (32) that is provided at the external device connection connector and electrically connected between the external device connection connector and the electronic circuit. When a power supply current supplied from the external device flows through the electromagnet, the electromagnet generates a magnetic force and attracts a predetermined part formed by the magnetic material of the power supply connector, thereby maintaining and hence ensuring a fitting state between the external device connection connector and the power supply connector. On the other hand, when the supply of the power supply current of the external device is stopped, the fitting state is removed, so that the power supply connector can be readily disconnected from the external device connection connector, thereby preventing any damages from occurring. |
