Detoxification of manure in livestock units - by covering floor with mixt. of sawdust and bacteria

Environmentally harmful substances in manure are converted to harmless substances in livestock-rearing units by covering the floor with a mixt. of sawdust and bacteria, whereby aeration of the mixt. is promoted by the movement of the animals. The sawdust may be replaced by peat or another suitable absorbent material. The mixt. may also contain materials for increasing the contact area, e.g. expanded polymer granules, and/or nitrogen-fixing Rhizobium bacteria in the form of root nodules.
