The crown top (6) for a cardboard display unit is formed by extending the upper area of the backwall (3) of the display unit which can then be swivelled over the display shelf. A tension element (9) which is stretched in the swivelled position is mounted between the crown top (6) and the rear wall (3). This tension element can be a rubber band or rubber ring. ADVANTAGE - Transport is easy and once in the display position the crowner is automatically aligned into the functional position once the despatch cover is removed.
