A hydraulic coupling consists of a socket valve (4) and a plug valve (2) which open one another counter to spring force during the plug-in movement. In its plug housing (18), the plug valve (2) has a valve element (22) guided in such a way as to be axially movable. In the socket housing (40), the socket valve (4) has an inner sleeve (52), which is supported so as to be axially displaceable by endwise contact with the plug housing (18) and has a valve seat (64) that interacts with a valve element (66), and a fixed countertappet (60) which rests against the valve element (22) of the plug valve (2) in order to open the latter. According to the invention, the countertappet (60) has the valve element (66) that interacts with the valve seat (64) of the inner sleeve (52) in the region of its end facing the plug valve (2) and consequently the valve element (66) is arranged in a fixed position in the socket housing (40). <IMAGE>
