PURPOSE:To make possible the recording of a low-output semiconductor laser by providing a layer of liquid not to be used for recording and a layer of liquid to be used for recording in a liquid chamber and using hot-melting ink which becomes solid at normal temperature and liquid when heated as a liquid layer. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam is condensed on a surface between a glass substrate 4 and a recording liquid 7 with an absorption spectrum in the wavelength of a semiconductor laser 10 due to a coupling lens 9 and an objective lens 8. If the thickness of a liquid layer of a recording liquid 7 is about 20 to 30mum, a liquid column 5 generates following the drive pulse of the semiconductor laser 10. The liquid chamber consists of the first liquid layer 12 and the second liquid layer 13 which is thinner than the former as a dual layer structure. An oily liquid with low optical absorption not to be used for recording is used as the first liquid layer 12, and a water ink with high absorption coefficient which is about scores of mum thick is used as the second liquid layer 13. Thus the thin layer to be used for recording can be easily formed, and a low-output semiconductor laser can be used for generating a stable liquid column and applying it to recording. |
