PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a sufficient function of discriminating the traveling direction of a propagating wave forming an oscillatory waveform by comparing the polarity of a voltage wave at the time when a current wave reaches the maximum value with the polarity of the current wave, and discriminating the traveling direction of the propagating wave according to the relation between the two. CONSTITUTION:A voltage wave detection circuit 5 and a current wave detection circuit 6 are provided to a specific part of a leader line 4 through which driving power is supplied from a power supply 7 to a specimen 3. The traveling direction of a propagating wave is discriminated by the use of a circuit 10 discriminating the polarity of a voltage wave 1 detected by the voltage wave detection circuit 5 at the time when a current wave 2 detected by the current wave detection circuit 6 reaches the positive maximum value and a circuit 11 discriminating the traveling direction of a propagating wave along the leader line 4 according to the polarity of the voltage wave 1. According to the constitution, a sufficient function of discriminating the traveling direction of the propagating wave in an oscillatory waveform propagating along the leader line 4 from a rotating electric machine 3 can be obtained. |
