Conveying system

The invention relates to a conveying system of any length to be used for conveying piece goods in steps and is composed, as shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3 of the drawing, of a fixed U-shaped rail 1 which rests on stands, for example, and in which a smaller conveying rail 2 can reciprocate. Figure 3 is a cross-section following line A-A of Figure 1. On the outer walls of the conveying rail 2 there are mounted rollers 3 on common spindles. As the conveying system can be extended to cope with relatively long conveying lengths, 8, 10 or even more rollers are necessary, depending on the distance to be conveyed. When the conveying system is in its rest position, the rollers 3 stand on the rails 4 which are fixedly mounted in a horizontal position on the inside walls of the U-shaped rail 1. Above and parallel to these rails 4 there are mounted, also fixedly, rails 6 between rails 5 and 7 which can be pivoted towards the rails 4. These rails are thus acted upon by torsion springs in such a way that their thrust bearings can be moved and displaced in slots which form the arcs of circles. The functional representation shown in Figure 4 indicates the path of the rollers 3 during conveying. They roll across rails 5 onto rails 6, the conveying rail 2 being raised from the U-shaped rail 1, carrying the material to be conveyed, for example a box 14, along concomitantly in the direction of the arrow B. The rollers 3 then reach the rails 7 which are pivoted towards the rail 4 under the weight of the conveying rail and are then returned to their horizontal position by torsion springs...
