A flexible inflatable double-lumen hose of plastic material (2) for use to dilate a human or animal body cavity for the insertion of instruments (oesophagoscope, coloscope, rectoscope) is attached at one end to the rounded end of a plastic guide wire (1) by reins (6) and is preferably made of PU. The inside wall carries a silicone lining (7). The inflation/deflation is effected through a hose (3), a relief valve (4) and a stop cock (5). Both the central and the annular lumen are inflated with air. ADVANTAGE - This ensures a painless, quick and non-traumatic insertion of test instruments.
