The cord reel is cooled by allowing cooling air passing through. A hub is provided for the reception of a coiled cord. A terminal block provides connection of the coiled cord, attached to the hub. A bore in the hub allows at least a portion of cooling air to pass through. Slots in the terminal block communicate with the bore for allowing at least a fraction of the portion of cooling air to exhaust through. The cooled cord reel includes a relatively fixed housing. The fixed housing allows the passing of a total cooling air flow. Only a portion of the total cooling air flows passes through the bore of the hub. A hollow shaft can be disposed in the hub. A portion of the total flow of cooling air passes into the shaft and exhausts through a slot disposed in the shaft. |
