<p>Hydraulic height adjusting device for an axle suspended by two torsion bars (3) parallel to a cross member (1) on which are pivoted the wheel support arms (2), comprising a delayed action hydraulic height adjuster (9) with slide (25), means of detecting the height of the axle acting on the adjustor and hydraulic means (6-7) acting on the anchorages of the suspension bars (3) according to the position of the slide.
