Ceiling-luggage rack combination for passenger cabin of aircraft

The ceiling consists of individual curved ceiling elements (5), which extend nearly to the respective top edges of the luggage racks (2,3), and the combination has tubular fluorescent lamps (6) arranged longitudinally in the cabin and assigned respectively to a ceiling element. The ceiling element is curved approximately in a parabolic shape so that its region of smaller curvature extends to the fluorescent lamp. The lamp is covered by a shade so that essentially indirect light penetrates the cabin. A reflector (7) is arranged on the side of the lamp remote from the ceiling element which reflects the light emanating from the fluorescent lamp mainly to the ceiling element and away.
