Rubber-elastic component and method for manufacturing it

On a rubber-elastic component, in particular a wiper strip for a windscreen washing system of a motor vehicle which is manufactured from an ethylene propylene diene copolymer (EPDM) material a coating of a material which can be readily halogenated, preferably natural rubber, is applied, which coating is subsequently subjected to halogen treatment. Thus, in comparison with known designs the wiper strip can be manufactured with a synthetic starting material in a more cost effective manner since the halogenation can be achieved in a shorter time.
